My favourite thing this week is what is happening in Brisbane this weekend.
The River Fire Festival. We stayed in Brisbane last year and I'm going again this year. We usually make it a family affair and I meet up with my sister and her family.
All along the river there are pontoons of fireworks which are sychronised. The bridge below, is the centre stage for the fireworks.
When we go to the festival in Brisbane we stay at a hotel along the river and we have fabulous views from the hotel room. If the weather is great we can go down to the river bank and watch it. If the weather is cold or wet we stay in the room and enjoy the show in comfort.

A couple of not so great photos from last year, taken on my phone from the hotel room, as I forgot my camera! Crossing my fingers that I remember my camera this year.
I'm planning to meet up with friends while I'm down there so it should be a pretty good Saturday night.
Linking up with Shay at Quilting In My Pyjamas so hop on over there to see everybody's favourites this week.
Ummm...where's my invitation?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend. I think your photos from last year look smashing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Pack that camera now so you dont forget.
What a great view ! I've never been to see it and this weekend I'll be up in Hervey Bay for Fathers' Day. I'm going to try to get there one year.
ReplyDeleteCheers

Great FTF Marg. My husbnd won a draw with his company to take our Family up into one of the high rises in the city to watch 'Riverfire" so we are very excited too. I will miss the dump and burn from the planes though this year. I'll give you a wave!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Have a great time and stay safe in the crowds. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's sounds like fun!! Fireworks are so magical and never fail to impress!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great festival. Fireworks are very hard to shoot, your shots are great. Hope to see more photos when you get back. Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful weekend! I love fireworks. Can't wait to see your pictures (I'm sure you won't forget the camera this time).
ReplyDeleteLovely fire works. Don't forget the camera this year. I think there is a chinese/ japanese moon festival thingy happening in adelaide this week on the river and they are going to have floating lanterns down the Torrens (which is like a creek compared to the Brissy river. No fireworks though I don't think. Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
