I'm a little late this week but better late than never and it's still Friday somewhere in the world.
Tim Tams
My favourite chocolate biscuit, in the whole wide world.
It doesn't have to be with tea, you could use coffee, hot chocolate and of course any form of alcohol, if you've had enough drinks before hand!!!!!!! Not that I would know from personal experience.
What is your Tim Tam preference?

Tim Tams
My favourite chocolate biscuit, in the whole wide world.
The original Tim Tam is composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate.
According to Arnott's, around 35 million packs are sold each year: nearly 400 million biscuits, an average of approximately 1.7 packs per Australian. (from Wikipedia)
These days we have many varieties including, White Chocolate, Crush Honeycomb, Black Forest, Dark Chocolate, Double Coat, Chewy Caramel, Dark Chocolate Rum and Raisin, Classic Dark, and Dark Chocolate Mint. I personally prefer the original.
Of course I can't post about Tim Tams without mentioning the world famous Tim Tam Slam, presented beautifully by Natalie Imbruglia below.

Tim Tams are my ABSOLUTE favourites too- especially the original ones.I could eat a whole packet in day.
ReplyDeleteIm going to confess I've never done a Tim Tam slam ...I know. Im un-Australian.
A very Aussie FTF....
I have never had a Tim Tam, but will look for them at the World market. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am definetly a "TT" girl(careful how you say that)double coat slammin' into the coffee!
ReplyDeleteI love that we can get them all year around now and not just in winter. Great post!! Love the clips!
When sally lived overseas around 2001 I used to send her packets of TimTams in her Christmas present. Nowadays you can buy them in some places in the UK (like Vegemite). They are an Aussie tradition and it is compulsory to feed them to visitors from overseas at the first opportunity!
ReplyDeleteCheers

Im going to admit i have done a Tim Tam Slam with Khalua and milk it was so so nice. Other than that after that experience i haven't really touched the original Tim Tam again...but i do have a soft spot for the choc mint Tim Tam every now and again.
ReplyDeleteTim Tams are my favourite too, and yes I could eat a whole packet as well, but these days have to resist buying them unless there are lots of people around to help eat them.
ReplyDeleteOooh Adele I haven't had a Kahlua and milk in ages but that sounds really good as a Tim Tam slam.
ReplyDeleteHIlarious! Never heard of the, will have to keep an eye open next year...........
ReplyDeleteAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH....I'm on week 3 on my NO SUGAR and after seeing your post I could cry! I LOVE Tim-
ReplyDeleteTams!! The Tim-Tam slam with Khalua, now that sounds orgasmic! Great Aussie FTF :-)
Sounds delicious! Never had a TimTam though I'm guessing there must be a hole up the middle for the tea to come up through? Natalie Imbruglia is one of my favourites and I missed that episode of Graham Norton so that was fun to watch :-)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, sounds lucsious. Probably a good thing they aren't readily available in the US or I'd have to burn my food diary!
ReplyDeleteI can attest to the deliciousness of tim-tams! :) Shay sent some to us in March and let's just say they lasted about a day!
ReplyDeletegreat ftf!
Oh yes, the originals are the best but I have to try all the new ones in case they might be better. I have a friend who showed Tim Brooke Taylor from the Goodies how to do Tim tam slams. I think that's so funny!! Great favourite this week Marg!!
ReplyDeleteYum, love tim tams - the original ones please. you know i had never even heard of tim tam slams until now. thanks for enlightening me Marg!
ReplyDeletex
they have to be sooo bad for you, so I limit myself to the 1.7 quota for the week (or is that annual???) lol
ReplyDeletetimtams are good but I reckon they are a commercial take on my Dad's cousins original recipe made with real Malt biscuits - it was the best sugar treat when we were children.
ReplyDeleteThe dark chocolate variety is my favourite.
Never had a TimTam. That'll have to go on my bucket list!
