Hopscotch

Update on the house.

I have a contract on the house, and a building and pest inspection will be done tomorrow. It "should" be just a formality and then the contract will go unconditional next Monday, fingers crossed and touch wood.
Hopscotch blocks

Today has been a day of sewing in my pj's, oh I've missed being able to stay in my pj's most of the day. It actually feels weird as it's been so long.

I started cutting out the pieces for this quilt, last night. I needed to make something bright and cheerful and a Tradewind jelly roll was the perfect antidote for feeling blah.  Lots of colour.

I made a couple of blocks first before I cut all the pieces. I'm glad I did, as one of my templates was not exactly accurate.
Hopscotch blocks

Today I cut out the rest of the pieces and started sewing blocks.

25 blocks so far,  52 to go.

Lots of pink and lime green coming up next.

I'm not sure why I started this,  call me crazy, as I'm going to have to start packing and sorting my things in the next few days. I should have picked a hand piecing project instead, that I can take with me.

  2. Love the colours in that fabric line. Prefect brightness for that pattern. And yay to the house sale almost being done. Bring on the next chapter.

  3. Looks good! Which template gave you trouble? I found the middle triangle was a bit small but I just fudged the seams and it came together fine. Can't wait to see more of yours!

  4. Love Tradewind too. I bought a layer cake for Dresden plates with a lime green background. It's going to be a group quilt for one of our members. Your hopscotch looks great so far. It's going to be an amazing quilt. I'm not sure I could cope with so many small pieces ;). Good for you for having a sewing day in your PJs. Good luck next week for the next phase of selling your house. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  11. None of us would call you crazy! It's totally understandable that with the house about to be sold you'd start a new quilt. But the way you're going looks like you'll have it finished in a couple of days anyway! I love that pattern and Tradewinds looks so beautiful! Fingers crossed!!

  24. Congrats on the house.
the blocks look great. Happy to see you using the Tradewinds. You will just have to finish the top before you pack up, it may get lost in the move and then you will be sooooo upset. All is good in the world again when you can stay in your pj's and sew all day.
