Some non quilting photos from my non quilting weekend on the Gold Coast.
The weather was wet. Surprise, surprise.
The view from our room. It was raining. My friends were staying in the green building.
The other direction, still raining.
The hotel pools. The weather was too cold, wet and windy for wimpy Queenslanders to swim.
The pool in the foreground has fish in it, you can swim with the fish, it's an awesome pool. It would have been great to go for a swim if we had normal summer weather instead of mutant weather. I think the kids that were in the pool must have come from somewhere very cold.
Despite the awful weather we had lots of fun meeting up with friends from Melbourne. They didn't mind the weather at all, it was just us locals whining about it.
Our room, at least that was very nice and it didn't matter if it rained or not.
I love the detail on this screen in our room.

I so want to go for a swim in that pool! And I am used to freezing my arse off so probably would think whatever temperature is was was balmy. If it was over 20C it would be better than we get here half the time in the height of summer!!
ReplyDeleteWould you like some of our weather? ( I can't seem to give it away!) We had 33 here today, and much the same until Monday when its going to be 37!! That room looked very relaxing!
ReplyDeleteUs tough Melburnians would still go for a swim! Can't believe how wet its been up your way, yet we are doing 10 or so days above 30!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a gorgeous place to stay!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about the weather but I'm glad you had a lovely time with your friends anyway.
ReplyDeletePS: After living in the tropics I wouldn't go into the water if it's not at least 28 degrees. When I think back to when we were young in Switzerland, everything which was above 20 degrees was considered warm ;).
Such a shame about the rain! At least the views were still beautiful and you can't beat time with friends :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a nice weekend away despite the weather.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a place I would love to visit one day. I'm sorry the sun wasn't shining, but your room was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI would have been in that pool in the rain! Even the rain cannot make the Gold coast look miserable ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the holiday snaps, even in the rain and grey it looks fabulous. The view of the pools is awesome, shame you missed out on swimming with the fish.
ReplyDeleteSee, you're getting all set for the holiday in the UK (that's probably where those kids were from ;o) )
ReplyDeleteI probably wouldn't have swum either ...does that make me a wimpy tourist?
ReplyDeleteDo you think it's ever going to stop raining up your way?
I'm glad you had a good time catching up with friends, despite the weather. Still damp up this way too...
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have gone swimming either. Still nice to get away, eh?
