Favourite Things Friday

It's spring here in Oz and while the northern hemisphere is enjoying beautiful autumn/fall leaves, we are starting to see lots of flowers starting to bloom.
One of my favourite trees is the Jacaranda. I absolutely love the colour of the flowers and they look spectacular against the blue sky. When the flowers start dropping they leave a beautiful purple carpet on the ground. I was in Brisbane today and noticed the Jacarandas are starting to bloom. It's early days yet, another week or two until they are in full bloom.

Not the best photos, hopefully I'll be able to take some better ones in a week or two. Like the one below.

  5. beautiFUL!
Love the feeling that summer is on it's way! Although we seem to have gone straight from winter to summer here without the nice crisp mornings but sunny days of spring. It's getting hot already!

  6. I love Jacarandas. Someone mentioned them once and I didn't think we grow them down this way but since then I've seen quite a few.

Love those pictures. Looks like my visit might be at the right time to see them in full bloom!

  8. I'm positive we don't have jacaranda's! I wish we did - that is a gorgeous shade of lilac. Do they smell (good)?

How many days till your weekend with Shay?

  9. We visited Queensland three years ago and I can remember being absolutely amazed by the colour of these. Don't have anything like it here in Scotland!
