Favourite Things Friday

This is kind of a surprise favourite this week. I went into my local phone shop to sort out my home phone/broadband bundle and walked out with a brand spanking new iPhone 4S, woo hoo, I'm excited.

Not for free, so don't get too excited for me, well you can get excited if you want to because I'm excited, really excited.

I'm a bit of a techno gadget lover. My phone for the last couple of years has been the Android HTC Desire, an ok phone but as all our computers are Macs it won't synchronise with them. PC is a dirty word or should I say dirty letters in this household. I have been waiting to replace my phone with a new iPhone so that I can sync phone, iPad and computers. I thought I'd have to wait for all the hype to die off before I would be able to get my hands on one, but as luck would have it, the store had received a batch of shiny new, right off the ship/plane iPhone 4S that morning and I ran jumped over little old ladies to get my hands on one.
So this week my favourite is my new baby. I haven't named it yet.

It's nice and bright and shiny white. I'm in love!

  2. Love my techi stuff and I love all things Mac they just work and you don't have to worry about them i have a macbook and it is the best. Got an Iphone 4 this time last year and it is still working fine so I don't think i am in a hurry to upgrade but I am thinking of an IPAD for myself for Christmas and we are dumping the PC at Christmas and getting a Imac for the kids though I am going to have to do a windows thingy on it so I can run my quilting software and hubby can do work.

  3. Very fancy, Marg! I'm glad you showed up to your store at just the right time!!!!

Do you like your ipad? Rob would really like to get me one, but I've never used anything mac before (the kids all have ipods, but I have no idea how they work).

  4. I almost got a new i-phone when I changed to telstra a few months ago because Neil wants me to go to a Mac. But quite frankly I'm scared that I'll be such a retard at working apple after previous attempts that I decided to stick with what I know. So I got the brand new HTC instead and upgraded my computer to another windows. I must admit that I'm happy on both counts.
But we often have the Mac vs Windows & Android debate in our family. Luckily hubby was sympathetic that I just don't have the time to learn new stuff at the moment lol... phew!
Glad you got a new one though - how cool to be one of the first. I remember last time they were like hens teeth for ages!

  7. Woo hoo! I'm avoided the whole smartphone thing up til now, but know that when my contract is up for renewal I will probably give in. Give us a review once you've got used to it, that will help my decision. cheers!

  8. It's very you. And it doesnt make your bum look big . Sometimes impulse buys are the most exciting.

Will you be giving lessons in how to use this wonderful piece of gadgetry to those of us who are technologically challenged? That way I can decide whether I want to re-mortgage my house to buy one.

  9. I'm writing this comment on my beloved iPhone! Apparently you can talk to the latest one and it talks back! They're getting more like the fantasy computers we used to watch on tv shows as kids. It's just amazing.

  10. Ohhhhhhh you lucky girl! I'm excited for you. I recently swapped my daughter - she got my iphone 3 and I got her blackberry. Let me tell you that switching an iphone for a blackberry was a very bad move on my part - Bella is of course over the moon but meanwhile I'm futting and tutting at the piece of poo (you know what I wanted to say there) that I now own. Blackberries, I suppose, are great if you've had a regular mobi and have switched up - but truly, the iphones are in a league of their own and once you've had one I don't think there is any going back. As soon as I am able, I will be following in your shoes and getting rid of said piece of poo and getting a super dooper, love it to bits like you do, iphone again. Enjoy it Marg, all of it's lovely gleaming whiteness and apple-fantasticness.

  11. I hope you didn't hurt any of those little old ladies .. and what were they buying anyway?? My dad would love one of those but I don't know that he'd actually buy one .. so maybe there were some little old men you were jumping over to get it. Congrats! almost everyone I know who has one just loves it.

  15. Congrats Marg! I have an ATT HTC Freestyle (Droid knock off), and I like to bounce it off the ATT guy's head who sold it to me. :-) Actually, it wasn't his fault. Silly me, I just thought the thing would actually performed as advertised.

Hmmm. How did this response get to be all about me???

    Congrats again, Marg!
