181 days left of 2014

Yes, I'm still alive.

Yes, I have been sewing, not a lot, but at least I'm back in my sewing room a couple of times a week.

Yes, I have been away.....again!

My last post was in April, it seems like years ago.

So here's what I've been up to since my last blog post.

Lots of photos, not too many words.

Went to Melbourne with my best buddy Shay for the AQC, look, blue sky and sunshine, seriously awesome.

It's winter here now, look, blue sky and sunshine, as always in paradise.

Flew to another paradise.

Fiji for BP's 21st birthday.

It involved cocktails as always.

Beautiful views and weather.

Sunsets over the water.

I even caught up on some appliqué, although I still have lots more to do.

Back at home, and it's been cold enough to hand quilt.

Karma had a haircut.

I attempted paper pieced arcs for a pickle dish quilt, loving these. Definitely want to make lots of them.

I finished the Dresden quilt top. A four patch border, now I need to make the back.

I started playing with this block.

Made quite a few.

I've even quilted it, now just need to find the time and the motivation to do the binding.

All this sewing and not one finish!

Finally I was lucky enough to go to both Camille's trunk show and Red Letter Day class in Brisbane last month. A really fantastic experience.

Camille's trunk show

Holly, who accompanied Camille for the Red Letter Day classes and trunk shows.

Hoping I can manage at least one more post before the end of the year.

  1. Is it really you? I saw this pop up on my feed and almost had a bloody heart attack. I thought your blog had been hacked by some chick that shaved your dog, stole your passport and started sewing shit with your fabric!

  2. You name dropper you! I like your "playing with it" block, whatever it is. Lovely fabrics

  3. Well hello there. Good to see you've rejoined blogland! At least you have a lot to show for your time away, it hasn't been just drinking beer and watching TV.
I love the cross block on point, too, and think your colour choices really pop. This was the one going on the wall, right?

  4. You are looking wonderful, it must be all that time in paradise. Beautiful holiday photos, I hope you had the best time. I love your quilting projects, the colours you choose are always so beautiful.

  6. Nice to see you back in Blogland. Glad you had a busy but interesting time recently with trips and classes and even some stitching thrown in. I've seen lots of Red Letter Day blocks around recently, but yours are definitely my favorite. I love the depth of your colours.

  7. See, this is why we miss you blogging! You're always up to fun things and making amazing things!! Lots of awesome sewing projects going on and that holiday with the palm trees and lime wedges looks divine!! Very cool you got to do a class with Camille!! I keep hearing rave reviews about her classes. It's an extra bonus to see photos of you too!!

  8. Oh goodness you and your buddy shay make me laugh so much. Welcome back you make my day and your quilts are so inspiring.

  9. Glad to see that you had such a wonderful time in Fiji, and even in Melbourne! I love all your fabric choices in all the projects you have on the go - can't wait to see them as they are completed.
    Welcome back to life!!

  10. Looks like you've been having a wonderful time.

  11. OMG! Shay's comment just about made me burst with laughter! Nice to see that you are sewing though I do catch a glimpse of that on IG. Hope all is well. x

  12. Looks like lots of fun stuff going on. Glad to see you back in blogland, if only for a moment. Have fun with all your gorgeous projects. As much as you've got going on, I'm sure you'll have a finish soon.

  13. LOL to Shay's comment! Well, if there's only going to be one more post this year, I hope it will be of one of these lovely projects all finished :). Glad you're still playing with fabric--in paradise

  14. I'd spotted you in some photos elsewhere, so unlike Shay I knew at least you were still breathing a few weeks ago ;o) I'm saying nothing about the weather. Nothing.

  15. In other words , life is good ! Nice to see you back here once in a while and glad to see you are enjoying life. Keep it up !

  16. Nice to see you here again. Looks like you're having a wonderful time!
