Do you remember this bundle I put together the other day? I was thinking about making a baby quilt for a boy.
BP had other ideas. She is waaaaaaaaay closer in age to the mother-to-be than I am, and thought that frankly, my idea sucked. So after far too long faffing around with more ideas, I came up with Plan B.
Which involved some of these
When I showed BP the result of Plan B, I was underwhelmed by the lack of enthusiasm from her, and now I'm not convinced Plan B was any better than Plan A.
It's not quite as bright as in the photo above. At this stage the grey will be the binding, I think it needs a "frame".
Why do I second guess myself?????????????????????? AND why do I listen to a 19 year old?
Never trust a 19 year old when it comes to taste (believe me, I'm talking from experience)!! I think your plan A is fantastic and I would stick with it, although plan B isn't bad either.
ReplyDeleteI don't know 19 y-old Miss BP , so I can't comment on her ideas or preferences, but I know I do love the quilt you've put together so far! I think it would look great with an orange binding too! I don't suppose you could suggest she find another quilt maker who may, in fact, charge her a wee bit more than her own loving and accommodating mother!!!!
ReplyDeletePlan B is so sweet. I love those scooters. If you are happy go with it. Skip the second guessing. If you really, really aren't sure then make plan A too, and the new mum can choose between the two.
ReplyDeleteWell, I rather liked the bundle you had put together...
ReplyDeleteWell i like both Marg and i think the new mum would be delighted with either....and those scooters are really cute!
ReplyDeletelove those scooters....stick with your instinct...what do these non crafting teens know! talking about mine actually not yours x
ReplyDeletelove both plans and would like to see Plan A pieced too ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose scooters are darling! I also love your plan A bundle - I don't think you can go wrong with navy and citrusy greens :)
ReplyDeleteIt's very cute, I love those scooters! Sometimes our families just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteI think it is darling! Maybe BP doesn't have the same taste as the MTB, so I say carry on.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny. our kids do have such different ideas. I listen to my daughter and don't always like the results, but if she does then it's good. Some of my ideas are old fashioned so I like to have the infusion of young ideas.
ReplyDeletebtw, I agree. make plan A too. there's usually a shower gift and an after baby gift ..
Plan B looks good but I'm sure Plan A would have looked fab too. Maybe you could do Plan A for the other side of the quilt and make it reversible?
ReplyDeleteBloody kids ;-). I like the Scooters.
ReplyDeleteTrust yourself, love the scooters, and, how come I have just found your recipes for the first time - duh!!
ReplyDeleteVroom!! Those scooters are fun!!! I love the modern look and it's so boyish! You should still doing something with the top pile of fabrics, love that combo! I always second guess every quilt I do, I think it's part of the process.
ReplyDeleteMarg just accept the fact the young ones just do not appreciate us. The fabrics are wonderful and I love the scooters and the baby boy will too....cant you just see what his first words will be...."s-c-o-o-t-e-r-!
