I work well under pressure

Thanks to everyone for cheering me on. I finished it, yay!

It was not without dramas, and I changed my plan, as I was going to tie in the middle of each block but it looked weird like crap. then I tried doing a fancy machine embroidery stitch and it looked even "crapper", so I gave up and left the centres unquilted. I am crossing my fingers that I do not regret that decision.

The other drama I had this morning, Fatboy aka Bailey squeezed himself in behind my iMac and knocked out the power cord. Normally not a drama but I could not get the 'puter to turn on again or work at all.  I tried a couple of times to get it to work and even in desperation called in Bitchypoo to help despite knowing that I would receive copious amounts of eye rolling and muttered comments.

After swearing at the cat and calling him a bastard, I resorted to using my lap top to send pathetic whiney emails complaining how bad my life was as now I had to use my lap top.

So on to the good stuff.

Ta dah, here it is, my first finish for 2011.

If you look hard enough you can see Karma's feet under the stool in the background.

Including photos of Lulu because she didn't try to kill my computer.

Breaking news, I tried turning on the computer again, and it's working. Yippeeeee!

I was in such a hurry to post this I forgot to add all the info. This is a Scruffily Quilt from the tutorial at Moda Bake Shop by Rachel from PS I Quilt and I used Rural Jardin by French General.

  1. Cats are all very well but really they do have a nerve, playing about with your computer - it's all a bit much really. Wonderful quilt - had to come and visit it at home so to speak!

  2. You? Pathetic and whiny ? Never ! I dont believe it.

Love your finished quilt . It's gorgeous. Really really pretty. Doesn't finishing feel fabulous?

It was obviously "Be an arsehole to a human "day. Lola dug up my newly planted garden this morning. Not happy Jan. She's lucky I love her so much.

  3. Ooooh how lovely it turned out! Such fresh colours.
I'm quite sure that cats were put on this earth to annoy the crap out of their owners!

  6. I love this quilt. I really really wish I were able to make something like this. Perhaps one day I will be good enough. The last picture looks as if Lulu folded the quilt all by herself and is patting the last bit down admiring all her hard work :)

  8. Wonderfully delicious quilt - it looks fab.

Now you see - my cat would have her claws dug into that quilt right away - testing it's softness appeal.

Pleased your computer sorted itself out - I'm sure the cat didn't mean to be such an arse - it's just that lead got in the way - they really don't understand our obsession with flat screens and keyboards - they just think they are there to scratch their chins on and to give a weird sensation under their feet when they walk across them - how do they know vfdjjdsobguopjhdchkll isn't an actual word :0)

  13. This is one beautiful quilt. I am so pleased for you on your finish!

I am laughing about your daughter rolling her eyes at you. My baby does the same thing! Wait till they are older and have children of their own! It is the ultimate payback - I just hope I will still be alive and Alzhiemer's hasn't kicked in yet!

  15. I laughed out loud when I got to your daughters 'name' I
am so happy to have stumbled accross your blog-beautiful quilts and funny-and your cat sounds as loved/annoying as mine. My own cat has just jumped on my stomach for a pat having spent the last couple days flat out ignoring me except to howl for food or step all over my carefully laid out patterns for cutting...
