Liebster Blog

First things first. The lovely Shell at Shell's Blog tagged me for this award

How nice is that!

I'm sort a bit iffy about doing tags or awards as it's a bit of a double edged sword, in that I don't mind being a very happy recipient of the award, but then trying to choose somebody to pass it on to, will they hate me for passing it on and how do I choose only a couple from all the lovely blogs I read. Oh more decisions, yikes, I'm not good with making decisions!

Anyway I don't want to sound ungrateful as I really am very pleased that Shell picked me as one of the worthy recipients.

This tag is to highlight a couple of your favourite "smaller blogs" the ones with not so many followers, and I think that's a great idea, to get people to check out blogs they may not have normally found. So in the spirit of this award and I hope nobody gets mad at me, and if you don't want to pass it on because you are likely to have an anxiety attack too, I am quite ok with that, here are my picks which were very very hard to choose:

If you wish to accept this award then you in turn do a post saying who tagged you, pick 3-5 of your favourite lesser known blogs (don't pick ones that have 300+ followers as the aim of this award to to highlight the lesser known ones) and let them know they've been tagged.

At the very least it's a great way to let other people know of interesting blogs that I like to read.

On another note, I am finding it really really hard to get into sewing. Every morning I get out of bed with the best of intentions to find time to sew and be productive. Take for instance this morning, unfortunately I woke up at 5am, yuck, on a Saturday, double yuck. After lying in bed until 5.30am I decided to take the bull by the horns so to speak and get stuck into sewing and try to finish something, anything! But, oh.......... I had to pass the computer on my way to my sewing machine. Hmmm I'll just check my emails and take a look at Favourite Things Friday posts.
It is now almost 8am 8.15am that's (over) two and a half hours I've been here. A very enjoyable two and a half hours I might add but that is two and a half hours that I haven't been sewing. I have looked at emails, replied to emails and comments. Looked at all the blog posts that came through on my reader, commented on only a couple as I was trying to get off here quickly, and then remembered I hadn't finished this post that has been sitting waiting for a week or so. So now after two and a half hours sitting at the computer I am going to attempt to walk to my sewing machine and sit down and sew.
I love my computer but boy does it take up a lot of my time. I've tried reducing the time I sit here, it just hasn't worked so I'm going to have to work out how to be more productive with my time when I'm not at the computer.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and is a lot more disciplined than I am!

  2. I'm useless...cant stop popping over to the computer to see what all my mates have been up to.

I did finish a quilt top this afternoon but really with the amount of time I've wasted I should have got a lot more done than that !

Oooh internet challange - 24 hours without computer time at all...anyone else game?

  4. Firstly - just as iffy about the tagging thing myself for exactly the same reasons - I thought about putting one of those little 'flattered but no tags' buttons on my side bar but then thought - hmmm, people might think that I think I'm wonderful enough to get tagged - haha - no winning!!!!

Secondly - equally as easily distracted - this is why I'm sitting here at 8am typing comments instead of washing the dishes or doing the ironing.

You are in good company lol - we are all as bad (good) as each other :0)

  5. Well deserved award I'd say. It's so difficult to reduce the time spent on the computer isn't it? I am wondering if it's necessary to go cold turkey and give it up altoghether but then I'd miss everyone too much! Maybe using a pinger to time the ration would work but I doubt it. Let us know if you find a solution!

  9. This post has made me laugh!! You've described my Saturday mornings but I can be sitting there until 10.30... I purposely tried to ignore the computer this weekend, and found other ways to dither instead.I'd done all the ironing by 8.30am, Lol. Sometimes I think a couple of hours reading about what bloggy buddies are up to is like having some friends over for a couple of hours. I was going to tag you for the Liebster award!! I'll give you the Rachaeldaisy Award instead, that one you can just enjoy and not have to tag anyone.

  10. Congratulations and thank you Marg. Sounds like we're all in the same boat.I tend to cruise around and see what's happening then go back when I have time to leave a comment. Consequently I'm often late with my comments!
    Cheers
