It's finally finished, washed and dried, nice and soft and crinkly.

A close up of the quilting, pebbling in the circles, a diamond shape between the circles and a very rudimentary free motion quilted flower in the centre.
A lovely summery quilt for the first day of winter!

ReplyDeleteOh wow, that's come out so well. Like everyone has said, the quilting is phenomenal - those FMQ type classes have turned you into a quilting goddess! The back is just as beautiful as the front - two quilts in one. Well done and enjoy snuggling underneath it.
ReplyDeleteRight..now Ive seen the whole thing - finished- I think you've been way too hard on yourself. Sure you had to unpick the circles of doom. Sure you felt like those pebbles would never end. Sure you bagged the freehand flowers in between the blocks. Well from where Im sitting (on my arse-in my chair- staring at your FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC quilt ) it looks amazing. Way to go Little Miss Sunshine. It's a work of art.
ReplyDeleteIts a WOW from me too Marg. This is an absolutely wonderful treasure....congratulations...Kirsty said you were a quilting goddess but i think that is the understatement of the year. You should feel very proud of this.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I'm in love... with a quilt. The colours are gorgeous, the pattern is adorable and your quilting is fantastic. Finished off with the binding... well, I think it's one of the, if not the, nicest quilts I've ever seen. Love it! You are very very clever (and don't say you're not, cos I think you are) xxx :-)
ReplyDeleteare you serious? this is one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen. I think you should have a picnic (on your verandah) and serve yourself strawberries and champagne - it's perfect for a picnic, perfect for summer, simply beautiful, Marg! You should be proud.

ReplyDeleteMarg it is truly gorgeous.....perfect for the summer picnic :-) I LOVE it! All that sweat and tears was well worth it too :-)
ReplyDeleteMarg your strawberries and champagne quilt is divine. The name seems so appropriate for it. Your header on your blog is brilliant. I love it. I have been trying to nut out how to put some photos on mine but have had no success. What is the trick to it? Blogger is just not being friendly towards me:( Di.
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job on the quilting--so glad you won that war! I'm going to have to try some pebbles someday, I just love the texture they make. Lovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteFrom reading the comments I'm guessing that all did not go smoothly with this quilt. I guess I'll get the detail when I go back and read your older posts. Whatever the traumas involved in its making, the end result is lovely - and all that fancy quilting too?
ReplyDeleteClever, clever, clever!
cheers
Helen
