I've been to the physio and it looks like, unlike the song, my tibia didn't want to be connected to my femur. Or something like that. Fortunately it wasn't the medial collateral? ligament, which is stressed and sore but not torn.
My knee doesn't look as sexy as this one. |
After a lot of banging, twisting, manipulating, massaging, ultra sound treatment and taping I can now walk a whole lot better. I have to go back Wednesday for further treatment, and she is hoping that that will be enough.
So sorry I won't have to have my leg amputated and provide everyone with hours of
It's put paid to Rachael's idea of a Hop Along Quilt Along. This could have been one with a difference, lol.
Oh Marg...that doesn´t really sound too good. Hope your doing better soon..a hop along quilt on one leg wouldn´t be much fun I guess....how did that happen anyway? Did you twist your knee or fall?
ReplyDeleteHope you are soon hopping and skipping along as normal after your second treatment.
ReplyDeleteThat all looks like it belongs in the "ouch" department. Hope you are up and about soon. If they are your pins in the photo...I withdraw my kind remarks due to uncontollable envy.
ReplyDeleteIf I had legs like that they would be on my buddy icon!!!!!
ReplyDeletePermanently!
Here;s to a speedy recovery, Skippy.
ReplyDeleteNot good, but could have been worse by the sounds of it. Lay off the rugby, okay. Ice on the knee and in the cocktail glass! I had a knee recon in 2000, I popped my cruciate, not much fun but I've managed to do a lot of running since then so you can still squeeze in that half marathon Marg!
ReplyDeleteI think we all wish we had pins like that.....glad to hear that it is not a permanent injury :-)
ReplyDeleteBugger...I was hoping to join in on the hop a long!
ReplyDeleteIm glad to hear it's nothing seriously serious . Meantime put your feet up and practice being crafty in the sitting position!
Ouch! Glad to know your knee is only banged up and not torn. Get some rest and stay off it. Hopefully you have some hand-work or embroidery you can do while you're awaiting your gam to heal. Happy Monday night! ☺
ReplyDeleteoh my! my knees hurt for you, lol. get well soon!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right, that is one of the sexiest knees I've seen in a very long time. Hopefully after Wednesday you'll have a lovely sexy knee too, or at least a working one.
ReplyDeleteNice legs! WOuld have been a shame to chop one off!
ReplyDeleteIf I had legs like that.... allow me to dream a second.... Right, back to reality - ouch, oooch, eeeach, oooweeee, my painful knee words for the day. Rest it up Marg, it's good to practise sitting on your butt, if you practice really hard (like me) you'll end up a pro and a mere nod of the head or point of the finger will have people running to fulfil your every whim. Hope it's better soon so you can get back to dancing on tables :-)
ReplyDeleteA fake leg would be great for those time you felt like being dramatic and you could pull it off and wave it in the air while ranting and raving. But I'm glad you get to keep your leg. There's better ways to get legless( another cocktail please waiter). Keep resting and get lots of hand sewing done. Thanks for linking me, it's quite a buzz to see my name up in lights!
ReplyDeleteHope your knee has continued to improve. I hate being at the hop around stage.
ReplyDeleteGlad your leg is feeling a lot better! I'm with Rachael - there are better ways to get legless!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your knee is feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteNo amputations please! That would be going too far for a blog topic.
Knees are complex things held together by strapping tape, it seems. How they manage to work as well as they do seems a miracle once you look at the inside! Me, I've never hurt my knee, but DH had two meniscal tears and a strained medial collateral ligament and had surgery last year. He's still getting some stiffness but has been able to play basketball. That's way more strenuous than quilting so I think you are one up on him!
