Today........

Today I finished the Hearts Quilt. Yippee.

I went to the hairdressers.

I bought this.

I tried to take interesting photos of these,

but kept on getting this,

a lovely cat's butt.

Then I started on the applique on the Japanese indigo quilt.

I have decided to do needle turn applique.

It is going to take me a lot longer than I thought.

  1. Okay it felt like you were bragging about your trip to the hairdresser...you know I'm having a hair crisis.

Now since its not all about me , I'll comment on your post.

I wish I could crochet. Your squares look so lovely. Can we see pictures of your beautiful finished quilt?

Your cats butt is cute. What is needleturn applique? Are you sick of my questions and comments yet?

I was going to say how fabulous my hairdresser is but knowing your pain, and the trials you are having of the follicular kind, I thought it best to gloss over that fact.

You should try crocheting, it is pretty easy to pick up, easier than knitting.

I will try and take some "arty" photos of the quilt tomorrow, but it doesn't look much different to the photos from the other day as all I did was finish sewing the binding.

Needleturn applique, ummmm, that is when you are insane and try to do something that you are not too good at and it takes forever. Short explantation, cut out shape, pin onto piece of fabric, turn edge under 1/8 to 1/4 inch as you go and sew it down with invisible stitches. I did find a great you tube clip that explains it. Only problem is I have no idea what freezer paper looks like, think I might have have some in my stash, or at least I think it might be freezer paper, and am going to try it this way tomorrow.

  4. The cats butt is funny - I have 4 cats and find that they are no where to be seen until the camera comes out. Oh yeah, they also show up when you lay a quilt on the floor to pin it. I love the bird pillow. Where did you pick it up from? I found one at T.J. Maxx and didn't get it and now could kick my self in the butt. T.J. Maxx is about 2 hours drive from here - not somewhere I go often!! For some strange reason, I find myself falling in love with things with birds on them.
