Unfortunately, giving me plenty of time to wonder why teenage daughters can be so uncaring, selfish, self-centred, lazy, ungrateful, rude........the list goes on. The positive in all this.... I know I am not alone, or the first and only mother in the world who has had to deal with it. I am grateful that she is not into drugs, smoking and binge drinking. It would be nice if I was actually appreciated for a millisecond.
I also hope she is illiterate because I can imagine her retaliating on facebook if she reads this post...
ReplyDeleteOK, here's the deal. They're rude, nasty, selfish, horrible etc etc etc so that when they decide to move out in a huff when they're 19 because you know NOTHING and they know EVERYTHING, you can let them go with a smile in your heart.
Dont get too excited..usually they come back , and always with another mouth for you to feed. It might have four legs or as in my case it might have two.
I'm sorry you're having such a rough time with your daughter. Sucks to be at odds with someone you love so much.
ReplyDeleteAt least you're putting this angst to good use. The piece you are crocheting is lovely.
they cant help themselves the little darlings, just had the very same over what would have been a very nice meal, shes tired and so am i. oh but then they turn on the charm and affection and it all melts away.........love that crochet pattern, what is it?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until mine are teenagers...NOT! What are you making, looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi there.
ReplyDeleteI am peeking in because you have crochet content in your blog... :)
I just wanted you to know that I'm stupid, and you're stupid, and all parents are stupid, until our kids turn around 25 years old. Then we become smart again.
It's just a phase we go through, that's all.
